
Dr. Maja Simoneti
Dr. Maja Simoneti is a landscape architect with extensive experience in spatial, urban, and landscape planning, design, and management. She is the recipient of the Plečnik Medal for cultural achievements and the Platinum Pencil Award for professional excellence. Dr. Simoneti co-authored Slovenia’s Landscape Policy and has contributed widely to research, publications, and educational programs on public and green space planning and management.
A dedicated advocate for urban trees, public green spaces, and social cohesion, she leads the national Active Travel to School and Healthy City programmes. At IPoP (Institute for Spatial Policies), she supports communities in creating pedestrian-friendly, healthy, and resilient urban environments. She is a member of Slovenia’s Climate Council and the Steering Committee of the Slovenian Network of Healthy Cities.
Željko Pedišić
Željko Pedišić is Associate Professor at the School of Public Health, University of Hong Kong, with over 20 years of experience in academia. He is the President of the International Network of Time-Use Epidemiologists (INTUE) and a leading researcher in chronic disease prevention and promotion of well-being through healthy use of time.
His work focuses on the prevalence, determinants, and outcomes of unhealthy time use, statistical and measurement methods in time-use epidemiology, and public health surveillance, policies, and interventions. He is the author of the Activity Balance (AB) model and co-author of the EXPERT model and the VIRTUE framework. Prof. Pedišić has played a key role in developing time-use epidemiology as a new research field, advancing the understanding of physical activity, sedentary behaviour, and sleep, and promoting compositional data analysis in public health research.


Professor Mark J. Nieuwenhuijsen
Professor Mark J. Nieuwenhuijsen is Director of the Urban Planning, Environment and Health Initiative and the Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health research program at ISGlobal, Barcelona, Spain. He is a world-leading expert in environmental exposure assessment, epidemiology, and health impact assessment, with a strong focus on healthy urban living.
